The Nordic Council
Conference at Army Academy

The Nordic region is, just like the rest of the world, experiencing challenges when it comes to
security issues, and this will not be lessened in the coming years. The Nordic region have an
ad a tage o pared to a u er of other regio s, e ause of the for alized fora’s here o-
operation and security politics can be debated as well as the prominent tradition of cooperation.
This conference is based around NORDEFCO, where NORDEFCO stands today, what has been
achieved and which challenges it will experience in the future. Following this the conference will
focus on areas where there are special challenges and possibilities for a extending the
cooperation, either bilaterally or within NORDEFCO. It has been chosen that the focus will be on
the Arctic, the Baltic Sea and cybersecurity.

looking at the Russia military presence in and around
the Baltic Sea. How can the Nordic countries handle

concerned should the Nordic countries be in regards
